Client Relationships

What Does My SEO Company Do With My Money?

If you could pay Google “X” dollars per month to put your website in that highly-competitive first spot for every search, you would do it. The value of that top-ranked spot, not the amount of work that goes into getting there, is what matters to your business. That being said, there is no one we know at Google that we can pay to get you to the top spot. At the end of the day, all that matters are the results you get from your SEO provider, and we have to work our butts off to move you up the organic search rankings.

Every one of our clients wants to know exactly what they are paying us for on a monthly basis, and our answer will always be “whatever it takes to improve your rankings.” We know if we were at the other end of the call we would say that answer is b.s. However, it is not. There was a time that just filling in meta information could put a webpage at the top. Then tons of links with exact match anchor text, then lots of useless content, then interlinking all your clients, etc, etc, etc. Google changes all the time, so what we need to do to move sites changes all the time as well.

You evaluate your SEO company on your positions and if your “quality” traffic trends up. If you are not getting more cases, you need to work with your digital marketing company to see if you are getting the types of leads you want. You should have working relationship that allows you to promote/SEO the right practice areas to drive the right leads.

The last piece of the puzzle is the uncomfortable piece. Sometimes, it is our clients’ intake departments and processes that are failing. If we work together, we can actually monitor client intake for you, and will help you if necessary. We recently went out to a client’s office to help them with intake. The firm’s close percentage improved by 15% after our weeklong, intensive training. To us, this is what true partners (not vendors like the soda machine filler) do for each other. We do whatever it takes to help our clients succeed. We are your partner in every part of the equation.

SEO Companies Help Drive Traffic to Your Site

SEO companies have specialized experienced helping businesses rank on search engines. SEO experts know what it takes to help bring your website more organic traffic through search engines. An SEO company employs specialists in different areas of search engine optimization, providing a range of services, including developing a customized SEO strategy, auditing your site, and implementing the methods that will help your company reach its goals.

Natural search engine optimization requires time to build sustained traffic-producing outcomes. Once your website has reached the top of Google’s results, you can expect more consistent traffic – and visitors who stay on your site longer – as long as your SEO efforts are maintained.

By targeting the correct keywords on your website and providing value once a visitor lands on it, you can expect quality conversions and a significant amount of inquiries from your target market. The amount of inquiries is directly correlated to how highly your website ranks. An average web user will not go past the first five listings on a search engine results page. This shows how important it is to be in those top spots for your market, and why having an SEO provider gives you an edge over the competition.

SEO is important because of the quality, not just quantity, of your visitors. It helps people who are looking for exactly what you have to offer find you. You want to convey a greater sense of trust for your website and your company – SEO helps you do just that.

SEO Creates More Leads and Potential Sales

When you hire an SEO company, you’re paying them to improve your site by analyzing rankings, tracking conversions, and testing organic/paid traffic. After gathering the data, the SEO experts will refine and retarget their strategy for the best results.

The bottom line is that increased rankings contribute to more traffic, which then leads to more conversions/customers, which ultimately brings in more revenue for your company. Remember that SEO can take some time, but in the long run it will be worth it, as your return on investment will skyrocket.

If you are skeptical to try it out, ask one of the top five ranked companies on Google and see if they feel like the money they are paying for SEO is working or not.

Authenticity in Business Relationships

Authenticity in Business Relationships

by Stephanie Lemley

In the world of texting, emailing, and working remotely creating a personal connection can be challenging in our business communities. Yet connections in a technical world still rely on our innate, intelligent, and very human instincts because we all know when Bullshit is Bullshit. It is felt in a cold and self-serving email, the email will take on a tone, a cheesy factor; but integrity, warmth and personality are also indicators that are sensed in the same form of communication. Our ability to read the other person is now done through the filters and veil of technology protecting all from pausing and wondering out loud, “what did they mean by that”

The sales consultants at TSEG know that creating valued and authentic relationships in business begins during the inception of the service we provide, whether its unique web design, discussing creative digital marketing strategies, commercial creation or a social media roll out, experts say you earn the listeners decision to move forward during that first minute of exchange. We are all journeying into the new frontier of a multi-platform communication with emails, Insta this, Snap that or Link it ! We now interpret the response our brains and hearts once processed with a hand shake or eye to eye contact, through a lens of punctuation and tone.

At TSEG we are relationship pioneers, meaning our mission is connection. We mindfully decide first before the communication begins  “Do we have something to say that offers our clients valuable information” and the team goal becomes “How can we help this company, law firm or startup grow”. We know when this mission is the motivation the other party will feel the intention and whether its in person, through an email or a phone call; the feeling is the transactional exchange.

This creates an authentic business-relationship energy; it begins during those first few words and the energy continues to build with the exchange of information creating a visceral growth for all parties involved. The relationship then evolves and morphs naturally into welcomed calls to avoid the emails, because the sounds of shared wisdom, humor and gratitude between colleagues and friends is exactly where the good stuff lives!

Scam Warning – Law Firms Beware

As web professionals, we at The Search Engine Guys feel compelled to warn our clients and the general public about a phishing scam that we have seen circulating via email. Primarily targeting law firms, this scam masquerades as an email from an overseas company in Singapore/Asia looking for representation in the US.

This scam was brought to our attention by a few of our clients, as well as by several emails that we ourselves received. If you receive any suspicious emails from a Patrick Chan or Daniel Wong regarding representation for companies such as Trailblazer Communications Asia Pte Ltd. or Matila Manufacturing Pte Ltd., be warned that it is most likely a scam. The emails in question tend to read something like this:

Message: Attention
Counsel:

I have previously sent you an email; please confirm
the receipt of this mail due to the urgency of this matter. If you are not
in position to represent us at the moment kindly advice immediately.
After a careful review, we decided to contact you to represent our
Company in North America. Matila Manufacturing Pte Ltd is a
Manufacturing company in Asia

We would require your legal representation for our North American delinquent
Customers. We are of the
opinion that a reputable attorney is required to represent us in North
America in order for us to recover monies due to our organization by
overseas customers, and as well follow up with these accounts. In order to
achieve these objectives a good and reputable law firm
like yours will be required to handle this service. We understand that a
proper Attorney Client agreement must be entered into by both parties.
This will be done immediately we receive your letter of acceptance.
Awaiting Response.

Thanks,

Patrick Chan

Variations of this scam (involving different names and different “companies”) have been reported on various online forums and blogs, so be very careful about what you respond to.

Closing the Deal: Converting Business Leads to Actual Clients

As David Slater aptly points out in his white paper, "Growing Your Law Practice by Leveraging Technology," grabbing that juicy search ranking is only part of a truly successful web marketing initiative.

In the world of online marketing, there are two "conversions" that must be addressed – first, the conversion of a website visitor into a viable business lead, and second, the conversion of that business lead into an actual revenue-generating client. A failure at either of these two conversion stages renders the entire web marketing campaign useless in terms of concrete results.

We have previously addressed a few points regarding the issue of visitor-to-lead conversion on this blog, so we will skip discussion of that phase for now. Instead, we will focus on several aspects of lead-to-client conversion in internet marketing.

No matter what business you happen to be in, closing the deal with potential clients is crucial. Part of this conversion process is simple professionalism – as in:

– Are you courteous and respectful of the potential client's needs?

– Do you display your knowledge of the subject matter?

– Are you accessible, responsive, and responsible?

This last point is particularly important when dealing with online marketing. When bringing in clients via the web, being accessible, responsive, and responsible boils down to one thing – speed. In a fast-paced world, and ESPECIALLY in the rapid-fire-short-attention-span-instant-gratification world of the Internet, your ability to respond to business leads quickly is paramount.

Let me be clear – when I say "quickly," I do not mean "within a week" or "within 3 business days." I mean "as fast as humanly and technologically possible." Every second counts in this business. David Slater points out that his firm's use of push-email is a huge factor in their ability to respond to new leads almost instantaneously. The moral? Modern technology is fast, so learn to use it to keep up. Emails, text messaging, collaboration software – familiarize yourself with these things and integrate them into the way you do business.

Of course, all the technology known to man won't do you any good if you don't put forth the effort to be there and use it; there is no technological remedy for not picking up the phone during normal business hours…

Designing for Conversion

What is the primary purpose of a business website? Regardless of the type of business – whether it is a law firm, a retailer, a consulting agency, or a doctor's office – the goal of a company website is to bring in new business. If a website fails to do so, it is inefficient and a waste of advertising dollars.

In order for a website to bring in new business, it must be able to convert website visitors into actual contacts. In other words, the website must be able to persuade a person who has just come across the site to call, email, buy from, or otherwise interact with the company who owns the site. How does a website accomplish this? A large piece of the puzzle is design, or how a website looks, how user-friendly it is, and what browsing and buying behaviors it elicits. Let's look at this Boston bankruptcy lawyer website as an example.

There are several major features worth mentioning:

Attractive visual design: consumers make at least part of their judgments based on first impressions. If a site looks bad or cheap, it immediately loses credibility.

Easy-to-locate contact capabilities: the easy-to-find "Contact Us" button in the navigation bar, the prominently placed phone number in the header, and the large "Free Evaluation" button all provide site visitors with the abilty to immediately take action.

Testimonials and Credentials: The client quotes and accreditations of Boston bankruptcy attorney Josh Spirn are prominently displayed, allowing the site to immediately build value with a visitor.

Of course, there are dozens more factors to consider in developing, evaluating, and improving the conversion of a website. To learn more, give The Search Engine Guys a call at (512) 394-7234.

Helping Our Clients Grow

One of our big selling points here at The Search Engine Guys, is our exclusive partnership agreement. (Not sure what this is? Go to http://www.tseg.com to read about it). We believe that SEO works best through a long-term relationship with a client, not through a haphazard cookie-cutter approach.

Take Alexander & Associates, for example. They are a rapidly-growing family law and criminal law firm in the Denton, TX area, serving clients in Denton, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties. We have been working with them on an exclusive basis for quite some time, and we like to think that their rapid growth is due, at least in part, to the excellent web presence we have helped them develop.

Apparently Alexander & Associates agree, because they have asked us to build their first, second, and now their third website. Their newest is a new family and criminal law website specifically targeting the Frisco, TX area. Though the site is relatively new and is a work in progress, we expect it to be very successful in the near future. So if you need a Frisco divorce lawyer or a Frisco criminal defense attorney, give Alexander & Associates a call.

On the other hand, if you’d like to get in on the same kind of exclusive partnership that The Search Engine Guys have with Alexander & Associates, give us a call at (512) 394-7234.
